Steven J. Donnelly, M. D.

Dr. Steven J. Donnelly joined Eye Doctors of Lancaster in January of 2015. A native of Philadelphia, Dr. Donnelly received his medical degree from Temple University where he also met his beloved wife, Diane. After completing his ophthalmology residency and serving as chief resident at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, he ran a busy comprehensive ophthalmology service and jointly supervised the construction and implementation of the Army’s 9th Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Center at Fort Stewart. During his time on active duty as a Major in the US Army Medical Corps, he performed over 2000 laser procedures (LASIK and PRK) to assist soldiers with their combat readiness. After being honorably discharged in July 2010, he served as director of surgical services at Boland Eye Center in Savannah, Georgia for over 4 years. During this time, he was elated to experience God’s gift of two beautiful daughters. In 2014 through the Christian Eye Network, Dr. Donnelly connected with Dr. Ted Jones at Eye Doctors of Lancaster and took the leap of faith to move his family from Savannah to East Hempfield Township. Dr. Donnelly is delighted to call Lancaster his home now since, in January 2016, he partnered with Dr. Jones to serve the great people of Lancaster County. Dr. Donnelly is an active fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. His primary professional interests include advanced cataract surgery, laser refractive surgery, and glaucoma management. In his personal life, he cherishes time with his spouse and children as well as worshiping his Lord and Savior at LCBC Church. Outdoors, Dr. Donnelly enjoys running, racquet sports, golf, and skiing while taking in the awe-inspiring natural landscape of Pennsylvania over the four seasons.
